Tonight is the eve of the XXI Commonwealth Games; Gold Coast 2018. Kyah has been up and down the motorway a few times, over the last few weeks. She’s also been staying with Ruth and John at Miami, more so the last couple of weeks. This has been a huge help for us, as it has saved her and I having to travel up and down for every single session, especially with the late finishes. A massive thank you to Ruth and John for adopting a child for this length of time. I know Kyah has really enjoyed staying with you. I have also enjoyed staying there on the odd occasion.
I am sure you are all aware, there has been two dress rehearsals,. One was last Saturday night, which Ruth and I attended, and the other, was last night. It seems all the performers are ready to go, and know their roles, for tomorrow night.
Kyah and I are looking forward to the opening ceremony. I plan on watching it with Ruth and John from the comfort of their lounge room!!
Ruth took Kyah and two of her grandchildren down to see the Queen’s Baton Relay this afternoon. They were up very close to the action and it was great for them to experience it.
It will be nice to get some normality back into our lives over the next few weeks. Moving again, and having the hassles associated with that, along with the commitments of the Commonwealth Games; that was all very disruptive. We have a bit of a road trip ahead of us starting out Thursday. As nice as that will be to see some close friends and family, it will be nice to get home, and hopefully get Kyah settled before school resumes for term 2.
Micah 6:8 He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the LORD require of you But to do justice, to love kindness, And to walk humbly with your God?
