The last few weeks have been very hectic for us. The possums were taken from the roof, but they came back! Obviously all access areas were not sealed up properly. So even though we have had sleepless nights with possums trapped in cages in the roof cavity, it seems like it has been for nothing. What a shame. I have had 4 full nights sleep since we moved in here, in March this year! Thankfully, Kyah is a better sleeper than I am. She cannot live on borrowed time and perform at the level she is expected to.
School exams were complete two weeks ago. Kyah has had a bit of a break from school. Dance has also been on break for two weeks. She had time to make some sushi rolls. We also made falafels and hummus. These are both popular with Kyah and the falafels are somewhat easy to take to school.
We had a gathering of most of the dance children at home for one of the girl’s birthdays. One girl was quite unwell, so she couldn’t make it. It was nice to finally get to speak to the kids and see them interacting.
We went and saw The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time. What a fantastic production. The National Theatre of Great Britain presented it in such a way – it was just amazing. The story , and its presentation was just so good. No wonder it has so many awards. If you have not seen it, and you get a chance to, I recommend you go see it.
We have been catching up on things that Kyah is not able to do through the school term due to being so busy with school and dance. Dentist check up. Orthodontist appointment. Hair appointments. Kyah has also finished her Certificate Four in Dance Teaching. She managed to complete her theory a little while ago, and she has just finished her practical assessments. What a great achievement. Technically, she is now qualified to teach dance to children.
A person in Kyah’s life that has been extremely nasty to her and causing much grief and sadness in Kyah’s life has finally moved on. They are now no longer in her life and it is amazing the change that has occurred already. Kyah is not so anxious and hopefully her confidence and self esteem will increase now. It was extremely sad to see Kyah being treated that way and not being able to do anything about it. We were praying this person would change their heart and attitude toward Kyah, or leave. Prayers have been answered, and this particular person has left Kyah’s life. What a relief. We are hoping the next 6 months will be much more enjoyable for both of us.
You made men ride over our heads; We went through fire and through water, Yet You brought us out into a place of abundance. Psa 66:12
Kyah went and watched a friend perform in a dance concert. It has been lovely for Kyah to have some time available to spend with friends. She also went to a birthday party with some other friends. Again, it was lovely that she had time to spend with friends. Kyah also caught up with her bestie – movie and lunch. She has had a lovely time in the school break.
This beautiful teddy was given to Kyah by one of her old dance teachers. We saw Robyn at Easter and it was so nice to sit and chat, and catch up on life. Even though Kyah only had Robyn for a couple of years, I know there will always be a special bond between the two of them. She was just one of those teachers that genuinely cared about Kyah. Robyn makes the outfits and does the make up on the bears and gives them to her dance students or sells them.
Kyah has also been doing strength and stability work. She needs to be extremely strong to be considered of the same strength as other dancers. This is because she is more mobile than others, so she looks like she is not as strong. Again it has been recommended by Queensland Ballet that Kyah focus on her strength. So if Kyah wants to be successful and stay in QB next year she must continue working hard all the time. It is tough when they get them so young. These kids really need the maturity and insight of an adult to realise exactly the level of commitment required in order to work their way to the top.
We are believing for more answered prayers. God is good, and we are believing that circumstances will change and Kyah will start to flourish.
We had Alejandro Arias come to our church this week. It was lovely we both had miracles of healing come on us. We saw others healed. God is definitely alive and answering prayers. I don’t know where we would both be if we did not have our faith.
Dance starts again this coming week. School starts the following week. So it is a gentle easing in, to the frantic pace that we are getting to know.
The last few days of the school holidays have been spent resting and preparing. Kyah has managed to watch every available season and episode of Brooklyn Nine-Nine in her break! What an enjoyable show. It is interesting to see the various personalities behave and interact. She won’t be able to do this again until her next break.
We are praying that life might be a bit easier this second half of the year. We are also believing God’s plans for Kyah will come to fruition, doors will open and the path might be a bit easier. Rather than us having to fight all the way. It seems there are people that are trying to prevent Kyah from getting where she needs to go.
But they that wait for Jehovah shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint. Isa 40:31
Behold I lay in Zion a choice stone, a precious corner stone and he who believes in Him will not be disappointed. 1Pet 2:6
