3 Months On

Today marks the day of Kyah’s 3-month anniversary since that terrible day. On September 26, 2016, Kyah’s life changed forever.

She has definitely overcome some huge milestones  already, but she has some even bigger ones to face and overcome in the near future.

We are both finding that the more we focus on God and His plan for Kyah the more rested we are with achieving the journey. The hardest thing to remember is that what was promised in the light, still stands in the dark. We all face dark (hard, difficult) times, and when we are there, it is very difficult to remain positive and focused. This is also part of the journey and the lesson we must learn…. stay focused and hopeful, irrespective of what is going on in the world around you.

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light. Matt 11:28-30

So, today, being such a significant day in Kyah’s journey, we decided to take a photo of Kyah’s plantar flexion (toe pointing) range. It has improved immensely since the accident and needs to be 180 degrees at least in order for Kyah to go back up en pointe.

There is a definite improvement. Let’s keep focusing on where we are going, not where we have been.  There is a 5-day summer school coming up in January that Kyah is planning  on attending. She needs to be prepared for it both mentally and physically.
