Today Kyah really made progress. She actually “walked” without her crutches. The actual act of walking is very difficult with a cast that does not move, and it makes locomoting correctly extremely difficult, but she did full weight bearing.
She is also doing upper body strength exercises. Even though she has been using the crutches to get around and using her upper body, poor posture can arise from this.
We are both hoping and praying she gets her cast off tomorrow. There have been so many issues for her to deal with – mental, emotional, physical. It has been a tough 5 weeks. There really is light at the end of the tunnel – and no, it’s not a train coming to hit us! It is the end of the tunnel, an opening, a hope for real progress and nothing but positivity.
We seem to have managed to move away from toxic environments and people, and now we are in a beautiful place; surrounding ourselves with kind, honest, genuinely caring people. It can only get better.
Once again, thank you to everyone who is connecting with us; giving words of encouragement and just showing you care and are interested in Kyah’s journey. We are believing it will be such a positive story to tell of hope, strength and courage.
One of Kyah’s favourite passages from the bible is Hebrews 13:5, I will never leave you nor forsake you. We are believing this and hoping God will restore complete strength, function, stability and control in her foot, so she can dance for His glory.
